HOW THINGS WORK?!
Are your two favorite words “how?” and “why?”  Do you often wonder not only how things work, buy why they were designed the way they were—and how or why they might be designed differently in the future?

Join our How/Why?! Workshop series as our experienced Mentor Guides explore how and why stuff works through selected readings, videos and exhibits.  Using the resources located in our lab and throughout our local Austin neighborhood, we will learn all we can about the things around us.   Then put your imagination and problem-solving stills to work, and figure out how these things could work even better in the future!

Workshops are geared toward upper elementary and middle-school aged kids, and will focus on the following topics:

APR 25              PULL IT!                    (How Pulleys & Simple Machines Work)
MAY 02              PRINT IT!                  (How 3-D Printers Work)
MAY 09              SCORE IT!                (How Sports Equipment Works)
MAY 16              MINECRAFT IT!        (How Minecraft Works)
MAY 23              APP IT!                      (How Apps Work)

Workshops will run every Saturday from 9AM - noon and we’ll celebrate the entire series with a public exhibition of your inventions at WonderLab on June 6th.
